Tadpole style gasket tape is available in a variety of materials, both for the filler material of the bead, and the cover/tail material. The diameter of the body and the width of the tail can be specified by requirements of the application. The most common forms are constructed from fiberglass fibers.

Kraft Industrial stocks the high temperature tadpole style shown above with a stainless steel mesh core with an 1100°F. stitched fiberglass cover. The fiberglass is coated with a proprietary procedure to reduce fraying and increase service temperature.

Notes on stocked style shown above:

  • All yarns used for braiding, stitching and bulb over-wrap shall be continuous filament E Glass per MIL-Y-1140H.
  • Wire mesh bulb shall be knitted with .006" diameter, 304 stainless steel wire, and formed to result in a weight of 25 to 30 pounds per 1000 feet.
  • Heat setting and lubrication shall be in accordance with proprietary procedures.
  • Color shall be gray.
  • Length shall be specified
