Clover Lapping Compound is available in standard grease and Pat-GelŪ water mix formulations
Clover Lapping and Grinding compounds are abrasive pastes perfectly suited for the cutting, smoothing and finishing of metal surfaces, and for the precision mating of metal parts. These compounds are formulated from silicone carbide and other special-purpose abrasives and are available in both grease and water-based gel formulations. Clover compounds e manufactured using pure and carefully sized abrasive grains that deliver predictable and consistent cutting performance. The carriers hold abrasive grains in a uniform suspension so that the last application from a can of Clover has the same abrasive qualities as the first.

Formulations:
- Silicon Carbide Grease Mix (Moh's Hardness 9.5)
- The standard abrasive paste for fast metal removal. Produces a smooth, flat surface but not a polished one. Leaves a rust-preventing film on lapped surfaces. Meets requirements of USDA for incidental food contact.
- Silicon Carbide Pat Gel Water Mix (Moh's Hardness 9.5)
- Paste for fast metal removal. Biodegradable, recommended for applications where cleanuip with water is required. Meets requirements of USDA for incidental food contact.
- Aluminum Oxide Grease Mix (Moh's Hardness 9,0)
- For polishing and burnishing. does not cut as fast as Silicon Carbide, but tolerates higher grinding pressures. Leaves a rust-preventing film on lapped surfaces.
- Aluminum Oxide Pat Gel Mix (Moh's Hardness 9.0)
- For polishing and burnishing. Does not cut as fast as Silicon Carbide, but tolerates higher grinding pressures. Biodegradable, recommended for applications whre cleanup with water is required.
- Clovite Boron Carbide Grease Mix(Moh's Hardness 9.7)
- Good diamond paste substitute. Faster cutting than silicon carbide. Good for the hardest and toughest metals such as tool steels, satellite and aerospace alloys.
- High Purity Pat Gel
- Paste for fast metal removal. Silicon carbide-filled in a biodegradable carrier. Meets purity requirements for the nuclear industry.
Sizing
All formulations available in One Pound Cans; Silicon Carbide available in 4 oz. cans, 7 lb.cans, and 25 lb. pails, and 100 lb. drums.
